The early 4x5 Gundlach Camera can be traced as far back as 1879. Ernst Gundlach and Lewis R. Sexton, the original founders of the 4x5 Gundlach camera, pioneered the way for the Gundlach camera to become a tool for photographers to use. The two scientists were heavily involved optical goods manufacturing and trading.
